Li Jian, born in December 1980, received his bachelor’s degree from the Department of Mathematics at Nanjing University in 2003 and doctorate from the Department of Astronomy at Nanjing University in 2008. After that, he joined the faculty at Nanjing University and was promoted to be an associate professor in 2013.
