Personal introduction Biography

ZengHua joined the School of Astronomy and Space Science at the Nanjing University as an associate professor in December 2019. He was a PSL fellow at the GEPI department of the Observatoire de Paris in Meudon, France from 2017 to 2019. He was an IAC fellow at the Instituto de Astrofisica de Canarias in Tenerife, Spain from 2013 to 2016. He did his PhD in astrophysics and worked as a researcher at the Centre for Astrophysics Research of the University of Hertfordshire in the UK between 2008 and 2013. He did his MSc in astrophysics at the Yunnan Observatories of the Chinese Academy of Sciences from 2005 to 2008. He obtained a BSc in physics at the Yantai University in 2000-2004. ZengHua was born and raised in Tai'an of Shandong province, China.

Research Field Research Interests

1. Characterization of L subdwarfs: discovery, classification, atmospheric and population properties (Primeval - IPrimeval - IVZhang+18cPrimeval - V).

2. Search for the most metal-poor very low-mass stars, transitional brown dwarfs (T-BD; Primeval - IIPress releasePrimeval - III) and degenerate brown dwarfs (D-BD; Primeval - VI) in the Milky Way.

3. Revealing the observational and physical properties of very low-mass stars and brown dwarfs with benchmarks in binary systems (Primeval VIIIPress release; Primeval - VIIZhang+13Zhang+10Press releasePavlenko+15).

4. Discovery and characterization of ultracool dwarfs in large area surveys (Zhang+09Burningham+10Day-Jones+13).
