Xu Xiaojie was an undergraduate at Nanjing University from 2002 to 2006 and obtained his bachelor’s from the Department of Astronomy (now known as the School of Astronomy and Space Science). From 2006 to 2008 he studied for his master’s (supervisor: Professor Li Xiangdong), and from 2009 to 2012 for his doctorate (supervisor: Professor Li Xiangdong). He was a doctoral student jointly taught by Nanjing University and the University of Massachusetts (supervisor: Q. Daniel Wang). Beginning in 2013, he became an assistant researcher at the School of Astronomy and Space Science, Nanjing University.
