Personal introduction Biography

Shi Yong is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Astronomy and Space Science, Nanjing University. He was supported by the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2018. He was awarded the Explorer Prize by Tencent in 2019.


He received his bachelor’s in 2003 from the Department of Geophysics at Peking University and his doctorate in astronomy in 2008 from the Department of Astronomy at the University of Arizona. Then he stayed on for post-doc studies for a year. From 2009 to 2013, he carried on his post-doc studies at the California Institute of Technology. He joined the faculty of Nanjing University in 2013. At present he is an  editor of PASJ.
