Abstract: In this talk, I will review the recent progress in addressing some of the key questions in star formation.

Brief Bio: Dr. Qizhou Zhang is a senior Astrophysicist at Center for Astrophysics (CfA), Harvard & Smithsonian. He is the Chair of Radio and Geoastronomy Division of the CfA which consists of approximately 100 astronomers, engineers, postdoctoral fellows, students and supporting staff. The Division operates the Submillimeter Array in Hawaii, and leads the international collaboration of Event Horizon Telescope that led to images of supermassive black's shadow of Sgr A* and M87. Scientists in the Division also conduct studies of the cosmic microwave background in the South Pole.

Dr. Zhang specializes in star formation in the Milky Way and in nearby galaxies, and is an expert on high-mass star formation and studies of magnetic fields. His research interests span all aspects of star formation in the Galactic disk, Galactic Center and in other galaxies. He has published over 370 papers in refereed journals, served in various international committees, and mentored numerous postdoctoral fellows, graduate and undergraduate students.
